The Community Solution Names Sonia Jethani Vice President of Student Financial Affairs
The Community Solution Education System is pleased to announce announced that Sonia Jethani has joined the organization as Vice President of Student Financial Affairs.
Jethani brings extensive experience in student financial services, financial aid administration, regulatory compliance, and student-centered financial strategy. In her role, she will provide System-wide leadership for Student Financial Affairs, with a focus on strengthening financial access, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving operational effectiveness, and supporting student success across The Community Solution’s network of institutions.
“We are pleased to welcome Sonia to The Community Solution’s enrollment and operations leadership team,” said Deborah Markos, Chief Operating Officer of The Community Solution Education System. “Her depth of experience, strategic approach, and commitment to student-centered financial practices will be instrumental as we continue to support access and affordability for our students while strengthening the long-term sustainability of our institutions.”
Prior to joining The Community Solution Education System, Jethani served as Associate Vice President for Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Regulatory Compliance for the California State University system. In that role, she provided senior financial leadership across multiple campuses, overseeing more than $420 million annually in federal, state, and institutional programs. Jethani introduced predictive modeling and analytics tools to identify equity gaps and monitor aid utilization across campuses.
Jethani holds an MBA in International Business Management from Regents University London, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Financial Management from San José State University.
In her new role, Jethani will oversee student financial operations across the System, including financial aid strategy, compliance with federal and state regulations, policy development, and cross-institutional coordination. She will work closely with institutional leadership, enrollment teams, and academic partners to align financial practices with The Community Solution’s mission and its collaborative, System-based operating model.
Student Financial Affairs is one of The Community Solution’s strategic operational functions, designed to promote consistency, expertise, and efficiency while allowing each institution to maintain its distinct mission and identity. This model supports both institutional sustainability and an improved student experience.
“I’m excited to join The Community Solution Education System at a moment when thoughtful leadership in student finance is more important than ever,” Jethani said. “I look forward to working collaboratively across the System to support students, strengthen financial operations, and advance access and affordability in meaningful ways.”
